Carrot and Ginger Bread

  • Bread

1 cup water

3 tablespoons non-fat dy milk

1/2 cup grated carrots

1 & 1/2 teaspoons apple sauce

1 & 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

3/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup whole wheat flour

2 & 2/3 cups bread flour

1 & 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast

3 tablespoons minced dried figs or prunes*

Preparation: 

Add all ingedients in the order suggested by the bread machine manual and process on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturers instructions.

Notes: 

* If the figs or prunes are hard, pour boiling water over them to soften, then drain well.
